Pandemonium in Y2K?
I believe by now, most have heard almost everything that can be said of the soon upcoming Y2K from the secular world’s view as well as from much of Christendom as well. There are a wide variety of opinions from both sides, ranging from nothing more than a mere hiccup to worldwide carnage.
In my opinion, both of these will be an accurate account of things that will occur as the clock strikes 12:00 A.M. January 1, 2000. However, I believe neither the carnage which many well known and respected TV-Evangelists and others have been predicting will come to pass as it has been prophesied. I believe something much more devastating will occur during this time that will go mostly unnoticed by a large segment of Christians, of which the secular world will see as a mere hiccup. Something much more subtle and demonic will be set in place at that time, far beyond the imagination of both the secular and Christian world in general.
No, I do not consider myself a modern day prophet. Quite the contrary, for this writing is intended to expose those who have made that claim, who have set themselves up as special messengers of God for these last times. What I am going to present here is nothing more than what any born again believer can read with understanding through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
We have been warned many times in the bible about false prophets that will rise up in the last days and deceive many. It is the false prophets themselves who twist the scriptures, to give the impression that it is those who remind Christians of these warnings through the study of the word, who are the false prophets of doom and gloom instead. We are being told instead that love, acceptance and unity is the ultimate goal of Christians, and that sound doctrine is no longer of much importance. We have been lead to believe that the written word is outdated and we no longer have need of the written word at the worst, and at the best, we need only to rely on these "Latter day Prophets" to give understanding of the scriptures. Both of these views are extremely dangerous as well as non-biblical, which has already caused much division in the body of Christ and will become only more divisive as the new millennium is ushered in. The division will not be widened by those who through diligent study of the word of God and are sounding the warning, but rather, it will be by those who insist that these "modern day Prophets that God is raising up as a great army for these last days". Yes, the battle lines have been set in place, and it does depend on which side we stand that will determine our eternal destiny.
The only question remains, which side are you going to stand on? Will you depend on the false prophecies of false prophets who have a false salvation to offer, or will you stand on the Word of God that leads to salvation? Indeed, the battle is in place.
For an exhaustive study of modern day prophets, visions, signs and wonders (and much of what we see and hear in many Christian circles as being a great move of the Holy Spirit sweeping the world, is in fact setting the stage for the anti-Christ), we recommend reading the following books.
"The Seduction of Christianity" by Dave Hunt & T.A.McMahon
I could not add any more convincing proof that what is presented in these well documented facts as to the "Occult" and "Cultic" beliefs and practices invading much of Christendom under the guise of fundamental Biblical Christianity. What I want to keep focused on is what I believe will happen as the clock strikes midnight bringing in the dawning of the Y2K.
For those who would like to learn more about such teachings on the internet, here is a well written, easy to follow guide, addressing the history of these heretical teachings as well as those who are the leading big names promoting these beliefs today. www.letusreason.org
Many may not be aware that the "Age of Aquarius" is what the ‘New Age" practitioners are looking forward to as being the final stage of "Utopia" brought about through the efforts of mankind by realizing the "christ" or the "god" within themselves. Through this mystical magical power, (which if properly applied) it will somehow bring about love, acceptance, and the unity of all religions, then the age of worldwide brotherhood and peace on earth will be finally be realized. The only obstacle standing in the way of this dream will be fundamentally biblical Christians of which are impugned as being "arrogant", "hateful", and "ignorant" and labeled as the enemies of brotherhood and peace by adhering to "silly traditions and superstitions of an outdated old book full of contradictions and errors".
Many Christians can see the obvious attacks on the church of Christ from those without, but are oblivious to the subtler undermining of biblical Christianity in their very midst. What we are hearing from more TV-Evangelists and others is that we are to "forget traditions and doctrines of men", and what they are really saying is to forget "sound doctrine" and the "gospel given to the saints once and for all". Many are lead to believe it is safer to trust those who "hear" directly from God in the here and now and that the written Word of God can only be understood by these "anointed of God" to give the "true meaning and understanding of the scriptures". Anyone who dares to question these peculiar interpretations (which are contradicted by the scriptures) are labeled as divisive, unloving, arrogant and ignorant and are standing in the way of the moving of the Holy Spirit which is bringing "unity" among "true believers". Those who may oppose these teachings are considered the "enemy" getting in the way of the "Utopia" which God has called them to usher in.
This false belief is just another door from a different angle to undermine the authority of the written word of God on all final matters of doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. (11Tim3: 16) God is not the author of confusion, (1Cor 14:33) and confusion will only increase at the beginning of the new millenium when none of the predicted prophecies come to pass as it were prophesied. The bible tells us that we are to be on our guard and that if we are not careful, we can receive another Jesus, another gospel and another Spirit other than the Jesus, gospel, and Spirit of the bible. (11Cor 11:3-4 & Gal 1:6-8) A false Jesus, a false gospel and a false Spirit have only a false salvation to offer. The only protection from having this happen is to study and have knowledge of the written word on a personal level and a personal relationship with Jesus through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
What we are being told by many "modern day prophets" that God is raising up a new breed of "super apostles", who with many signs and wonders will bring the world under the subjection of the Holy Spirit through them, and will win the world to Christ. We are being told that we have to realize that we are in "God’s class", and that "we do not have a god within us, we are god". (This teaching is what Mormons believe, and Mormonism by any other name is still Mormonism, which is also the basic belief system of "New Age" religions.) In studying what many TV-Evangelists doctrinally profess, one has to wonder, is this the "Christ" of the Bible or is this the "christ" of the "New Age" these false prophets are bringing the world to? The similarities to New Age foundational beliefs are frightening, and one does not have to wonder much if this is the teaching of another gospel and comes from another spirit or not. I personally believe this to be the case and is part of the delusion that God will send (2 Th.2: 1-12) and that Jesus says even the very elect may be deceived. (Matthew 24:24)
Not only will an uneventful Y2K increase the mockery of the secular world, scoffers saying, "where is the promise of his coming? All things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (Peter 3: 3-4) There will be many who will be disillusioned and will forsake the faith they thought to be true, sending them reeling in confusion, hurt, and a feeling of betrayal by God, and these wounded souls will join forces, determined to destroy the last vintage of biblical Christianity. Then, at this time, there will be a true unity of beliefs after the true church of Christ is "Caught up (raptured) to meet the Lord in the air, and so be ever with the Lord". (1 Th. 4: 13-18) The question for you then is, will you stubbornly cling to these false prophets and give more excuses for their false prophesies, or will you denounce these false prophets and cling to Jesus alone? Those who do will join in the rapture of the saints, which is our "blessed hope, the glorious appearing of the great God and Our Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2: 13) Those who remain will be a part of the ushering in of the anti-Christ, who will declare himself as God, and those who have received the mark of the beast will suffer the terrible consequences of believing a lie -- the lie being the original lie from Satan himself: we can become gods.
The bible is very clear that it is Jesus, not man, who will usher in the true age of peace and prosperity for a thousand years. This will happen only AFTER Jesus Himself, in the flesh, will return WITH the saints in the flesh, to reign on this earth. It will be at this time Jesus will sit on the throne of David as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and will rule with an iron rod from the house of Israel. No man will be able to glory in themselves and take credit for any of this. It is ALL made possible only by the BLOOD of the LAMB and only by His GRACE that the saints will reign WITH Him over the nations.
I have written this article for posting as OAM’s featured article before Y2K in the prayerful hope at least one person will be saved from the devastation that will surely come for some who have put their faith and hope in a false prophet instead of the sure foundation of our Lord Jesus Christ and his written word.
In His love, Parepidemos
